When you open the door to your dishwasher, on the inside of the door you will find a dispensing compartment. This where you put the detergent – Finish Powerball Tabs, Powder or Gel – before each washing cycle, and then close it using the slide gate of flap. The detergent chamber opens automatically during the main wash to release the detergent.

Beside the dispenser compartment there is the opening for the rinse agent, which must be opened to fill the reservoir. Before the first wash, fill this completely with rinse agent. Depending on the machine type, you will find that either the rinse agent LED on the control panel at the front of the machine will go out, or the visual inspection window next to the rinse agent fill opening will change from light to dark. The rinse agent ensures streak-free drying of the washed items after the rinse cycle. Your dishwasher dispenses the rinse agent automatically during the rinse cycle. Depending on the rinse aid settings different amounts of rinse aid are dosed. Adjust the rinse aid setting according to your preferences of the drying result.

General recommendation: If you use a multibenefit tablet, the rinse aid setting can be adjusted to a lower level compared to when using a classic, detergent only product.

You should refill the rinse agent regularly (roughly every 4 weeks), and certainly if the rinse agent indicator referred to earlier is showing that it needs refilling. Finish rinse agent is suitable for all makes of machine and guarantees optimal results, especially if used together with the other products of the Finish system.

Salt

In the interior of the dishwasher you will also find the opening for filling the machine with dishwasher salt. Depending on the type of machine, you will find this either under the lower basket (screw cap cover) or on the side wall (flap cover).

Before the first wash, fill this reservoir completely with salt. The funnel provided with many of the machines makes filling easier. Many dishwashers have a visual display on the salt reservoir, or a monitoring light on the control panel, to indicate when the refilling with dishwasher salt is required. If your machine does not have an indicator of this kind, then a check on the filling level in the salt reservoir at least once a month is recommended, and it should be refilled if necessary. The use of residue-free Finish Special Salt allows optimal water softening, prevents lime deposits on the crockery and your machine.
